The Bardstown City Schools Strings Program, initiated in 2005 by the Bardstown Foundation For Excellence in Public Education, provides stringed instrument instruction during the school day beginning in third grade. Today, the program has middle and high school orchestra.
I would not be where I am now without the help of the strings program. My decision to major in music was not very hard for me. I've really loved playing ever since I joined the strings program in third grade. My parents never had to ask me to practice, I would just do it voluntarily.
