Title I Services

Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA), seeks to improve the academic achievement of the disadvantaged. Title I, Part A provides financial assistance through state educational agencies (SEAs) to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or percentages of children from low-income families to ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and achievement standards.

The Bardstown City Schools will use Title I funds only in schools that have been selected for services through allowable procedures. Funds are used to improve student achievement in high poverty schools to provide all children with significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.  The Title I, Part A Handbook contains comprehensive information about all Title I requirements for districts and schools.
