immunizations

The BCS Health Services team invites families to bring prescription medications and emergency medicines to their student’s open house. We will provide necessary medical forms, including action plans for allergies, asthma, and seizures, as well as self-carry consents and registration forms.

Kentucky School Vaccine Requirements
Kentucky’s school entry vaccine requirements, modeled after the CDC guidelines, include the following:

  • Hepatitis A Vaccine: All students must receive two doses, given 6 months apart.
  • Preschool: Students must have a physical exam, eye exam, and complete age-appropriate immunizations.
  • Kindergarten: Students must have a physical exam, dental exam, eye exam, and complete age-appropriate immunizations.
  • Sixth Grade: Students must update their immunizations and have a physical exam.
  • Students 16 and Older: Two doses of the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine are required. If the first dose was administered at age 16 or older, the second dose is not required for school entry.

For more information about immunizations please visit our Health Services page.

To ensure that you receive important messages including winter weather closures and delays BCS asks all primary household families to complete the Back-to-School Annual Update. Completing this will also allow you to update emergency contact information, required school and district annual forms including, media opt-out, permission to see a school nurse or access the Healthy Kids Clinic, and more.

All primary household families must complete this update by August 16.

To complete your Annual Update you will need access to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click here to begin your Annual Update. If you don’t have a Parent Portal Account contact your student’s school secretary or our district registrar.

Need help completing your Annual Update? Watch this video guide for parents or guardians to learn how to use the tool.
