In partnership with Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc., Healthy Kids Clinic, and our Bardstown Family Resource/Youth Services Centers, we are excited to offer on-site dental care for students during the school day.
⚠️ Important Reminder for Families
If your child already sees a dentist on a regular basis for routine care, you do not need to sign up for this program. These school-based clinics are designed to help students who may not otherwise have regular access to dental services.
Upcoming Dental Clinics
- Bardstown Middle School & Bardstown High School – Thursday, September 18
- Bardstown Early Childhood – Date to be announced soon
- Bardstown Primary – Wednesday, September 17
- Bardstown Elementary Schools – Date to be announced soon
Consent forms for P–5 grade students have already been sent home.
What Families Can Expect
A licensed dentist will set up a portable dental clinic inside your child’s school to provide both preventive and restorative services.
Preventive Dental Care (All Students)
- Dental exam and cleaning
- Fluoride treatment
- Oral health education
- X-rays and sealants (as needed)
Restorative Dental Care (Grades 1–12 only)
- Fillings
- Baby tooth extractions
- Stainless steel crowns
- Other necessary treatments
Important Notes for Parents
- Restorative care is scheduled separately from preventive care.
- An optional consent form is available for SDF Fluoride, which helps stop cavities and reduce tooth sensitivity.
- Not all students are good candidates for mobile dental care. If your child needs extensive treatment or has difficulty cooperating during dental visits, they may be referred to a local dentist.
- Due to limited clinic days in each school, all treatments may not be completed in one school year.
- These services are not intended to replace your child’s regular dental home, but they do help ensure students receive essential care during the school year.
