The Bardstown Independent Board of Education is proposing a general fund tax levy of 77.9 cents on real property and 80.1 cents on personal property with 1.2 cents added to recover prior year losses due to exonerations.
The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2026 was 83.3 cents on real property and 83.3 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $16,685,665.08. The proposed General Fund tax rate of 77.9 cents on real property and 80.1 cents on personal property is expected to produce $16,726,803.04. Of this amount, $5,286,902.75 is from new and personal property. The addition of 1.2 cents to recover prior year losses due to exonerations is expected to produce $255,452.97.
The proposed rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The general areas to which revenue of $296,590.92 above fiscal year 2026 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: instruction.
