immunizations

The BCS Health Services team in collaboration with the Bardstown Healthy Kids Clinic will offer a vaccine clinic at Bardstown Middle and Bardstown High open houses on July 26, 27 and 31. At the vaccine clinic students (with permission from guardians) may receive the hepatitis, Meningococcal ACWY, TDaP and/or HPV vaccines.

Kentucky’s vaccine requirements for school entry, which is modeled after Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, include the following:
  • All students must have two doses of the Hepatitis A vaccine. The two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine must be given 6 months apart.
  • Students entering preschool must have a physical exam, an eye exam, and completed age appropriate immunizations.
  • Students entering kindergarten must have a physical exam, a dental exam, an eye exam, and completed age appropriate immunizations.
  • Students going into sixth grade must have their immunizations updated and a physical exam.
  • All students who are 16 years or older are also required to have two doses of the Meningococcal ACWY vaccine. If the first dose of Meningococcal ACWY was received at age 16 or older, the second dose is not required for school entry.

For more information regarding immunizations please visit our Health Services page.

To ensure that you receive important messages including winter weather closures and delays BCS asks all primary household families to complete the Back-to-School Annual Update. Completing this will also allow you to update emergency contact information, required school and district annual forms including, media opt-out, permission to see a school nurse or access the Healthy Kids Clinic, and more.

All primary household families must complete this update by August 10.

To complete your Annual Update you will need access to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Click here to begin your Annual Update. If you don’t have a Parent Portal Account contact your student’s school secretary or our district registrar.
