PUBLIC NOTICE PURSUANT TO KRS 424.130

The Bardstown Independent School district will publish a full list of delinquent school taxes in the Kentucky Standard on Sunday, May 4, 2025.  The list will contain the name, address and tax amount due as of April 29, 2025.

All delinquent tax information will be available Monday, May 5, 2025 online at www.bardstown.kyschools.us  To view the list, see QUICK LINKS, then choose PROPERTY TAXES, then choose DELINQUENT TAX SALE to locate the link to view the 2024 Property Taxes available for sale.

Unpaid tax claims as of 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 will be sold for cash. 

All individuals wishing to participate in the sale must register with the office below between the dates of Wednesday, May 21, 2025 thru Tuesday, May 27, 2025, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Tax Rate

Bardstown City Schools Board of Education approved the tax rates of 81.90 cents for real property and for personal property per $100 valuation on September 17, 2024. This tax rate includes 1.6 cents to recover prior-year exonerations.  Motor vehicle tax remains unchanged at 53.1 cents. 

Holiday Schedule

The BCS Board of Education Tax Office will be closed in observance of the following holidays:

Labor Day — September 2, 2024 (Monday)
Thanksgiving — November 28-29, 2029 (Thursday – Friday)
Christmas – December 24-25, 2024 (Tuesday-Wednesday)
New Years – December 31, 2024 – January 1, 2025 (Tuesday-Wednesday)
Martin Luther King, Jr — January 20, 2025 (Monday)
Memorial Day— May 26, 2025 (Monday)

Please mail the bottom portion of statement with your payment to avoid delay of payment posting.

DROP OFF BOX

Payment drop box is available 24 hours a day and is located in the Tiger Alley parking lot adjacent to the Board of Education Office.

When using the dropbox please identify your payment with your bill number, property address and name on the account. Checks and money orders only. Please do not leave cash.

ONLINE

Taxpayers may pay school taxes online using a credit card. This option is available for current year taxes only. Online payments do have a convenience fee of $1.50 on payments of $60 or less and a 2.5% for payments of $60.01 or greater. BCS does not collect this fee. The link to pay online will only be available during the tax collection.
