The BCS School Nutrition Department participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs. Our team of school nutrition employees serve more than 1500 quality appealing meals a day to our students. All meals are nutritionally balanced and adhere to the federal nutrition regulations set forth by the USDA.
The department strives to make the cafeteria a welcoming environment for students to enjoy meals and recharge after a morning of learning. Through the year, the School Nutrition Department partners with our schools to offer special meals for programs like the Inspired By Lunch, Thanksgiving, Read Across America Week and more.
Bardstown City Schools will be participating in the Seamless Summer Option of National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As part of this program, All Bardstown City Schools will offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to all enrolled students and children age 18 and younger for school year 24-25. Students and all community children age 18 and younger will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a household application. All BHS students MUST have a free/reduced lunch application on file. Even if your child will not be receiving these services, it provides important information for other district programs.

All Bardstown City Schools are a part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Through the CEP program all BCS preschool through 12th grade students receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. All families at these schools will be asked to fill out a Household Income Form (HIF). If you have questions about HIF forms, please contact Shannon Satterly at 502-331-8856. This will allow the necessary information to be collected to provide other educational benefits to your children. In order for our district to continue meals at no cost to all preschool through eighth grade students, it is important for you to return this form to your child’s school. Household Income Forms are distributed during the first week of school.
Questions about menus should be directed to Stacey Johnson, School Nutrition Campus Manager, at 502-331-8825 or stacey.johnson@bardstown.kyschools.us.
