The Bardstown City Schools S.T.E.A.M. Academy is one of the first of its kind in the state to provide an immersion program for qualifying students in grades 4 – 7. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math and brings together a powerful combination of topics and techniques for educating students.
Our immersion program focuses on students in grades 4 – 7 and is a once-a-week enrichment opportunity. Throughout this day students focus on very interactive hands-on, minds-on learning through the various areas of S.T.E.A.M. Students learn computer coding, create apps and discover how technology works and its impact on our community and world. They design, build, and work in teams in an environment supportive of trying, potentially failing, and trying again. This unique program allows students to engage fully in every stage of the process – from conception and design to its physical production. If students can dream the idea, S.T.E.A.M. Academy possesses all the technology and tools to bring their visions to fruition.
The S.T.E.A.M. Academy was launched in 2015 with financial support from the Bardstown Foundation for Excellence in Public Education.
