Tyler Boston Named New Assistant Principal at Bardstown Middle School

Bardstown City Schools is proud to announce Tyler Boston as the new assistant principal at Bardstown Middle School.

Mr. Boston will bring 10 years of educational experience to the middle school team. Since 2019, he has served the students and families of Zoneton Middle School as the assistant principal. In that role, Boston had a positive impact on the climate and culture. With collaboration from other staff members, he oversaw the Special Education program, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program and supported the Response to Interventions  (RTI/MTSS) program.

“Mr. Boston is a hard worker, very open and approachable, and puts students at the center of all his decisions,” said Principal Matt Bartley. “ I am confident that Mr. Boston will fit right in with the BMS family and that he will have a great impact on student achievement.”

Boston began his career in education as a special education teacher in 2012 at Bullitt County Public Schools. After five years of working as an LBD/EBD Resource Teacher in both elementary and middle school settings, Boston served as a district Admissions and Release Committee  (ARC) chairperson.

Before Mr. Boston’s career in Bullitt County Public Schools, he began his teaching journey as a substitute teacher right here at Bardstown City Schools.

“I am humbled and excited to have been chosen to serve the students, staff, parents, and community of Bardstown Middle School in my new role as Assistant Principal,” said Boston. “Bardstown City Schools have a tradition of Excellence, Innovation, and Diversity. I cannot wait to begin my journey in Bardstown as we continue to build upon these traditions and enhance the success of our students.”

Boston earned his Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Louisville, a Masters of Arts in special education from Georgetown College. He earned his Rank I in instructional leadership and school administration from Bellarmine University.

He will replace former BMS Assistant Principal John Eveland who is now serving as principal at Bardstown Primary School. Boston will begin his new role later this month.
